Overview

At Holyrood Cooperative Playschool, we believe strong community programs help build vibrant, active communities and support families to raise resilient children. The goal of our school is to provide our children with a positive environment that allows them to have fun, to play, and to develop social, emotional, cognitive and motor skills that will be needed for entry into kindergarten.

In typical years, registration fees pay for the operating costs of the school and extras (such as craft supplies, field trips, seasonal parties, books, toys and other educational materials) are paid for through fundraising. Due to the current pandemic, our playschool is experiencing a decrease in registration and an increase in operating cost, resulting in an anticipated deficit for the 2020-2021 school year. Our hope is that, through FundScrip, we will be able to raise enough money to feasibly run the playschool this year, continuing a wonderful tradition of having a community-lead playschool in our neighbourhood for over 30 years.
