Overview
Purpose Independent Secondary School would like to invite you to our fundraiser!
We are raising funds to support:
• The Breakfast and Lunch program offered to all students
• Monthly bus passes for students who attend the school who cannot afford the expense
• The activities and field trips linked to student learning and growth
including P.E. equipment, art supplies and technologies for learning
Here’s a snapshot of our school:
• The school is tuition-free and fee-free. All costs are covered - removing all financial barriers for families
• We are able to enroll 90 students in the school from Grades 8 to 12 who for a variety of reasons find it hard to have their learning, social emotional or mental health needs met in a traditional school setting
• We are a relationship-based, student-centered learning environment where students feel emotionally and physically safe
• Students are able to graduate from our school with a Dogwood diploma enabling them to apply for post-secondary programs in universities, colleges and technical schools
• There are a limited number of scholarships for students to post-secondary institutions available thanks to generous donors
• The school is part of a larger community service organization, Lower Mainland Society for Youth and Families.
