Overview

CCS is a Toronto-based, national charity with a long history of helping newcomers, immigrants and refugees settle, integrate and thrive in their new country.

Since 1954, our agency has always stepped up when the call came in from the world’s most vulnerable people - from refugees coming to Canada in the 1950’s in the aftermath of the Hungarian revolution, to Chilean refugees fleeing political persecution and the Vietnamese “boat people” fleeing political unrest in the 1970s, to those escaping strife in El Salvador and Guatemala in the early 1980’s, to Syrian refugees escaping civil war in 2016 -- we have always been there to welcome them.

And we are proud of this tradition.

Now, we will be there again in supporting Afghan refugees coming to Canada over the coming months with resettlement needs and services.

You can support our fundraising efforts for this community and all refugees simply by using FundScrip, a program that lets a charity like ours raise money simply through the purchase of gift cards to providers for every day expenses and gifts (i.e. groceries, gas) with gift cards bought through FundScrip.

Each purchase automatically includes a donation to our fundraising campaign. In other words, when you purchase a $100 grocery gift card, you will receive the $100 card, but, in addition, a percentage will be donated to our campaign.
